Family Time 3: The Creator

Pray and Share: If you could travel for vacation anywhere on earth, where would you go?
From the beach to the mountains, the earth has so many beautiful and interesting places to travel to and see. Each location has very specific people and animals. There are details such as food or clothing that can make it unique. We all have our favorite places for all our favorite reasons. Even if you can’t afford to go there, you can enjoy looking at pictures of them online. Every one of those places did not just accidentally happen, each was intentionally made by the Creator. Each location on earth was carefully designed. As was each planet carefully hung in space. As were the sun, moon and stars, all carefully placed in the heavens by the Creator. In your search for truth, your family has learned that God does exist. But who is God? Scripture shares that humanity recognizes God as our Creator. God’s elaborate designs and intricate detail prove creation was formed by an Intelligent Designer. Yet, scripture reveals that He is so powerful that everything was formed by His spoken command. God SPOKE all things into existence. Now, those are powerful Words!
By faith we understand that the entire universe was formed at God’s command, that what we now see did not come from anything that can be seen. Hebrews 11:3 NLT
Since we were not there at creation, our understanding of creation is by faith. It is an assurance or a conviction of the truth that the universe was created by God. It is a belief that God, who we cannot see, created everything that we can see. In scripture, another name for God is the Lord.
Have you never heard? Have you never understood? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of all the earth. He never grows weak or weary. No one can measure the depths of his understanding. Isaiah 40:28 NLT
This passage in Isaiah shares that God, our Creator, never grows weak or weary and His understanding is so great that it cannot be measured. That would explain why He knows how to hang a planet in the heavens. We don’t even know much about gravity, at this point. Thank goodness, God’s understanding is well beyond ours! We want someone very smart in charge.
Wrap it up: Since we are part of the creation and God is the Creator, do you think the Creator would be the best source of truth for His creation? Why?
Closing Prayer: Pray for God to help you know that He is the Creator
