Activities

Adventure offers a variety of experiences:  rock climbing at Hartman Rocks, whitewater rafting down the Taylor River, kayaking on Lake San Cristobal, and an overnight hike in the Gunnison National Forest.  Additional instruction is offered for rock climbing, kayaking, and camping (useful for earning badges for Scouts). 

What's Included

Meals and lodging at rustic campsite along the river at Ute Trail. Gear provided for all high adventure activities (rockclimbing, kayaking, overnight hiking trip). Whitewater rafting is optional and is not included in base price. 

Accommodations

Camp out at Ute Trail 4-5 nights. Backcountry camping 1-2 nights.

Sample Adventure Itinerary

Day 1 – Arrive at Ute Trail in the afternoon. Set up campsite by the river, followed by dinner at Ute Trail

Day 2 – Kayak in the morning at Lake San Cristobal. Afternoon free to work on Scout badges. Dinner and night activities at river campsite.

Day 3 – Morning free to work on Scout badges. Whitewater rafting in Gunnison. Dinner and night activities at river campsite.

Day 4 – Leave for rock climbing after breakfast. Sack lunch at Hartman Rocks. Dinner and night activities at river campsite. Volleyball tournament after dinner.

Day 5 – Leave for overnight hike after breakfast. Camp out in alpine meadow.

Day 6 – Early morning peak ascent and hike back to camp. Afternoon activities at Ute Trail. Closing ceremony in chapel.
Day 7 – Head home after breakfast.
