What to Pray for:
Safety

Pray for the safety of our campers, guests and staff this summer!

Fun

Pray that our campers, guests and staff have the greatest and most fun summer of their lives!

Spiritual Growth

Pray that our campers and guests would come to salvation in Christ and grow in maturity in Christ.

What We Ask:
Set The Table

Prepare your heart for camp through prayer, time in the Word, and living in community.

Find A Timothy

Just like Paul and Timothy’s relationship in the Bible, we challenge you to find one camper or staff member that you are going to invest in. Not for a week, not for a year, but a lifelong relationship. Be praying for this person!

Leave A Legacy

You will become a part of the parade of saints that have come through the gates of Sky Ranch to serve, to love, and to share the Gospel.

Bible Study Outline:

Counselors will receive the curriculum during staff training and will have time to study and know it. Regardless of your position, it’s great to know what our campers will be learning so you can pray for them and tie it into your job! Tune back in Spring 2026 when we release the Bible Study outline for the summer!

Van Staff FAQs

All Full Summer Staff will be given one week of paid vacation! Your week off begins on Sunday at 5:00 pm and you are expected to return the following week on Sunday by 11:30 am. All vacations will be scheduled by your manager!

If you are an Overnight Counselor (ex: Assistant, Senior Assistant, Senior), you will find out your cabin, the age group you will be working with, and who your co-counselors will be on Cabin Revelation day during Staff Training! If you are support staff (ex: Retail Team, Media Team, Activities Team, etc.), you will work alongside and interact with all ages of kids throughout the summer!

It is not required! Most summer staff will have a car at camp, so if you don't bring one, you’ll be able to catch rides! During camp you’ll park in a designated staff parking lot. Sky Ranch is not responsible for any damage done to your vehicle while on Sky Ranch property.

While employed with Sky Ranch, we ask you to follow these guidelines to best serve our guests this summer. If you have any questions, please consult a member of the Summer Camp Team (change to Your Manager or someone from the Summer Ministries Team). A few examples include:

  • Tattoos: Must be covered.
  • Piercings: Two per ear permitted (female staff only. Transparent, flat nose spaces permitted.
  • Males must be cleanly shaven, or if you have a beard, there must be a distinct line.
  • No extreme hair colors, tinting, or styles.

At Sky Ranch in Van, TX we do not have washers/dryers available for staff use. There are laundry facilities available in the nearby towns. Housekeeping does offer a weekly laundry service for a minimal fee ($11.50) taken out of your paycheck. You may sign up during staff training if interested.

In order to work at Sky Ranch, you will need to bring your original, unexpired I-9 documents to Staff Training (copies will not be accepted). Please review this list to see acceptable documents. Contact Human Resources at HRDept@SkyRanch.org with any questions.

You will be paid every two weeks on Friday.

Your summer salary includes compensation for training time and will be paid based on the dates worked (including required training). Through your Employment Forms online you can enroll in direct deposit. If you do not have a bank account for direct deposit, you will receive a pay card that works like a debit card. No printed checks will be provided.

Sky Ranch will provide staff members needing medications with a private locker in the Health Center. You will use this to secure all medications (including vitamins) and only you will have access to your locker. All staff must utilize a locker for medications. You may only keep rescue inhalers and EpiPens with you during camp.
