    What to Pray for:
    Safety

Pray for the safety of our campers, guests and staff this summer!

    Fun

Pray that our campers, guests and staff have the greatest and most fun summer of their lives!

    Spiritual Growth

Pray that our campers and guests would come to salvation in Christ and grow in maturity in Christ.

    What We Ask
    Set the Table

Prepare your heart for camp through prayer, time in the Word, and living in community.

    Find a Timothy

Just like Paul and Timothy’s relationship in the Bible, we challenge you to find one camper or staff member that you are going to invest in. Not for a week, not for a year, but a lifelong relationship. Be praying for this person!

    Leave a Legacy

You will become a part of the parade of saints that have come through the gates of Sky Ranch to serve, to love, and to share the Gospel.

Cell phones, smartwatches, and laptops may ONLY be used during your

      Ute Trail Staff FAQs

What I-9 documents do I need to bring?

In order to work at Sky Ranch, you will need to bring your original, unexpired I-9 documents to Staff Training (copies will not be accepted). Please review this list to see acceptable documents. Contact Human Resources at HRDept@SkyRanch.org with any questions.

How do I get there if I am not taking my car?

If you are not taking your car, need a ride, or want to caravan/carpool or ride a donkey, please contact Matthew McCullar at MatthewM@SkyRanch.org or get a thread going on GroupMe.

At some point, please contact your summer manager to confirm your travel arrangements. If you are flying, please fly into Gunnison or Montrose, and notify us of your need for transportation prior to booking your ticket.

When is the last day of camp?

You will be released from camp on August 10th at 6 am.

If I am Full Summer Staff, how do I request my week off?

All Full Summer Staff will be given one week of paid vacation! Please coordinate with your manager to request your vacation week. You could put this above the special circumstances time off request!

What about a special circumstances time off request?

We know that some of you have special dates that you have requested off. If you need a specific day off, now is the time to let us know so we can plan accordingly. We ask that if you request time off, it is for something that cannot be missed (graduations, weddings that you are in, etc.). Please contact your manager first, then Abbey Sledge if needed.

How long is my week off?

Saturday after turning camp to the following Saturday Night at Midnight. Please plan accordingly.

What does Staff Training look like?

Staff training is going to be a great time of training, community building, and work. Parts of camp have been closed since last summer, so we will need to clean and open them back up. We will also be training on all of the awesome activities and policies you will need to know about for the summer. Last, we have some really fun activities that will help us to get to know each other’s names and grow together as a community.

What is expected of me when it comes to my appearance?

Sky Ranch follows the mainstream conservative approach when it comes to physical appearance. While employed with Sky Ranch, we ask you to follow these guidelines. If you have any questions, please consult a member of the Summer Camp Team. A few examples include:

      • No visible tattoos.
      • No body or facial piercings (excluding two piercings per ear for female staff)
      • Males must be cleanly shaven, or if you have a beard, there must be a distinct line.
      • No extreme hair colors, tinting, or styles.

Do you have laundry facilities on camp?

Yes. Once you are here, we will let you know what days you can wash your clothes. We will provide the detergent.

How much room will I have for my things?

Not very much! You will want to have something solid for your clothes and things (like Rubbermaid containers). Space will be tight. Bring only what you need - your roommates will appreciate it! If you have questions about how much is too much, please contact Matthew McCullar at MatthewM@SkyRanch.org.

Am I required to have health insurance to work at Sky Ranch?

No, you aren’t required to have insurance while working at camp, but if you get sick while at camp, YOU are responsible for covering all the expenses. Sky Ranch provides insurance coverage if you become injured while working or have a work-related illness.

What is phone use like in Colorado?

Ute Trail has limited cell service, but we do not allow you to use your phones while you are working. You will have time off each week to make calls, so please plan accordingly.

      When will I get paid?

You will be paid every two weeks on Friday.

Your summer salary includes compensation for training time and will be paid based on the dates worked (including required training). Through your Employment Forms online you can enroll in direct deposit. If you do not have a bank account for direct deposit, you will receive a pay card that works like a debit card. No printed checks will be provided.

Will I be able to keep medicine in my cabin with me?

Sky Ranch will provide staff members needing medications with a private locker in the Health Center. You will use this to secure all medications (including vitamins) and only you will have access to your locker. All staff must utilize a locker for medications. You may only keep rescue inhalers and EpiPen with you during camp.

What if I am a Wilderness Guide...is there anything else I need to bring?

Yes. We will continue to be in contact with you concerning additional things to bring to camp.

      How do I get mail?

Here is your summer mailing address:

      Sky Ranch Ute Trail
      Attn: (your name)
      1329 State Hwy 149
