This person takes the initial contract and facilitates effective and personal communication with the group’s leader throughout the planning and execution process, striving for excellent communication to create the schedule to staff the needs, and to create and facilitate an environment that best meets the goals of the group’s leadership. Retreat Coordinators are front-lines positions for energetic, positive, organized team players who become the face of Sky Ranch for the groups under their care, with a primary focus on the group leaders. This person will also manage all retail operations of the camp including ordering, inventory, and sales for the store. The person will be a part of the Horn Creek leadership team, assisting with the development and achievement of our strategic objectives.

We will hire a Fellowship team for both our east Texas location in Van, TX and our southern Colorado location on the crest of the Sangre de Cristo mountain range in Westcliffe, CO at our Horn Creek camp.

Job Information

We want to invest in you so you can then invest in others.   Our one-year Fellowship provides an in-depth experience with our premier Christian camps. This program for recent college graduates provides growth in the areas of work experience, community, ministry and leadership in a Christian camp setting. The Fellows at both locations will spend nine months with their respective camp as members of our Retreats and Activities departments as well as other site specific departments as needed.  Fellows will receiving high ropes and lifeguard certifications in order to run outdoor activities.  In the summer for three months, Fellows will transition to preassigned roles at any of our five locations located in Texas, Oklahoma or Colorado.  Assignments are based on need and skill sets to accomplish our mission of serving our summer campers, families or groups.  The Fellowship program also equips individuals to effectively apply Biblical leadership principles in significant ministry opportunities.  These principles are learned through regular community and family night functions, mentor relationships, and a focus on developing specific spiritual disciplines.  Participants in our Fellowship program will be given special consideration for entering into our Master’s Program which offers the opportunity to earn a Master’s degree through Dallas Baptist University at no cost to you will serving our School Programs department at our Van, TX camp location.

Must be able to live on camp in shared housing during the program.  Excellent customer service skills.  Excellent verbal and written communication skills.  Able to effectively lead and work in a team environment   Highly organized with an ability to multi-task easily and give strong attention to details.  Must be able to work well under pressure and maintain confidentiality of highly sensitive personal information.  Ability to travel to various geographic locations, including travel by car, and some overnight stays.  Ability to work a varied schedule when needed, including some overtime, nights and weekends; Normal work days are Tuesday through Sunday, hours will vary.  Requires physical agility, common to setting up events, including but not limited to: bending for items below or reaching for items above the individual; carrying equipment; stooping, and climbing step stools or ladders.
