Morph Summer Camp

MORPH is the beginning of the COR Initiative’s Advanced Discipleship and Leadership Training Program. Each day, campers will dig deeper into fundamental issues of their faith and explore leadership principles which they will apply in hands-on experiential ways. Finally, throughout the week they will learn how to focus on the development of a strong character and healthy self concept. MORPH programming is presented by camp counselors and our full-time ministry staff.

What makes MORPH unique?

  • Intentional community: The limited amount of campers per session allows campers to build deeper relationships with counselors and other campers in their cabin. As they begin to share and learn from each other, this helps Morph campers learn the design and purpose of the body of Christ.
  • Challenging bible study curriculum: Campers begin to dive deeper in bible study where counselors facilitate in a way that challenges campers to not just be given information, but rather to think critically about what they read in the bible in order to discover the truth of God’s Word more fully.
  • Service Projects: This is the introduction of service projects that will increase throughout the course of phase 2. Morph campers spend time with younger campers at activities and engage them in one-on-one conversation. This allows Morph campers to learn discipleship and serve younger campers in a way that opens their eyes to the need to serve others. Campers set up and help facilitate a night activity for the younger-age campers. Morph campers will work behind the scenes to learn what it looks like to serve humbly.

Parents may pick up their campers at any time during the week, but on Saturday, all early pick-ups must take place between 6:00 – 6:45 a.m. at the East Gate entrance. If you are unable to arrive prior to this time, you may pick up your camper after the closing show.

Emails are provided through your Parent Portal. In order to send your camper an email, check out our Step-By-Step PDF Here. Please note that parents, family and friends may email the camper, but the camper is not able to respond via email. Email messages are printed at 10:00 CST a.m. Monday through Friday. If you submit an email after 9:30 a.m., it will be printed and delivered the following day. However, please note that we do not deliver mail on Sunday or Saturday, so any emails sent after 9:30 a.m. on Friday will not be delivered.

Sky Ranch proudly serves three hearty kid-friendly meals per day. From pancakes and sausage to eggs and cinnamon rolls for breakfast, deli turkey sandwiches to chicken nuggets for lunch, and burgers to chicken-fried steak for dinner, entrees are always well-balanced and nutritious. And if your child doesn’t like what’s on the menu, the Sky Ranch dining hall also has a fully stocked salad bar that contains numerous positive alternatives including pasta, mixed salads, fresh veggies and more! Not only that, a selection of fresh fruit is available at every meal as well as a peanut butter and jelly station. For vegetarian diets, gluten-free or other special dietary needs, please contact our food service department by e-mailing LeeAnn Stewart at leeanns@skyranch.org.

Laundry service is available for multi-week campers only. All campers should bring enough clothing for their appropriate length of stay. Laundry is done on weekends at a nominal fee. Laundry service can be added through the Parent Portal under “Reservations” and the service should be requested for the week the camper arrives. (Example: If a camper is staying for two weeks beginning Session Five, please request service for Session Five and not for Session Six.) There is NO laundry service for Sigma. Nonetheless, we recommend that all clothing articles are labeled clearly with your camper’s name. Please do not bring any clothing that requires special care or is delicate or expensive.

There is a Lost and Found table set-up during check-out on Saturday. Please check this section for any misplaced items before you leave camp. If you realize that your camper did not make it home with an item, please call Guest Services at (800) 962-2267 and leave a message describing the missing item(s). All claimed items will be returned C.O.D. Items will be held for two weeks, and after that time they will be donated to charity. Please label all items and make sure that you have all your belongings before leaving camp. Sky Ranch is not responsible for lost or broken items.

There is a full-time nursing staff working all summer at Sky Ranch. Our staff takes meticulous care of every medical situation, especially when dispensing medicine. A Health Form is required to be completed for every child that comes to camp. If your child takes regular medication, exact guidelines and requirements are detailed on the Health Form. Please ensure that when you arrive at camp all medications are in original packaging and that the camper’s name is listed on all prescription medication that has been ordered for the camper by a doctor’s office. Please do not separate in plastic bags or pill holders.

Our online photos are provided on Zenfolio through your Parent Portal. In order to view the images, please follow this instructions on our Step-By-Step PDF, Here. Once in Zenfolio, pricing and options will be available for you to view your child and purchase photos. Parents, family and friends may purchase high-resolution images suitable for printing or they can utilize the email option to send themselves a low-resolution image at no cost.

We will do our best to honor roommate requests that are completed through the Parent Portal and remain within the established guidelines.

A camper may request up to a maximum of three roommates for a total of four campers in a chain. Please note that all roommate requests must be completed by both sets of parents, with an “accepted” status through the Parent Portal, at least fourteen days prior to arrival.

Please note that confirmed roommates will be in the same cabin, but we are unable to accommodate requests for a bunk assignment near another camper. Campers are assigned their bunks by their counselors based on numerous factors uncluding medical conditions, sleepwalking, etc. and these assignments may not be changed during the arrival process.

Our desire is for as many children and youth to experience summer camp as possible. Thanks to the generous support of individuals and organizations who share this desire, we are able to offer a limited number of scholarships to Sky Ranch Summer Camp.

SnackPacks are goody bags filled with all types of edible treats for campers to enjoy. These packs come pre-made and ready to be delivered on the day of your choice. You can order one for each day if you would like.

Upon arrival at camp, each camper is issued a wristband that is electronically connected to their Store Card account. The wristband helps campers control their spending money and provides a simple and accurate method of payment. Because campers are not permitted to carry cash, parents deposit spending money into their camper’s account through the Parent Portal. Parents may also view their campers purchases by accessing the Parent Portal at any time.

Campers can purchase snacks, souvenirs, gifts, books, apparel, toiletries and much more. We recommend depositing $60 for each week of summer camp. Unused Store Card funds may be donated to the Sky Ranch Scholarship Program once camp is over or remaining balances exceeding $5 can be credited back approximately two weeks after camp is over.

Sky Ranch receives applications from and interviews roughly 1,200 college and high school students each year. We will hire 350+ students to become members of the Sky Ranch Summer Staff Family. Most college students attend school in Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana and Arkansas; though each year we have representatives from all over the US. Most of our high school students have attended our Sigma Leadership Program and are from the DFW area. Each summer staffer has submitted two references and attends a ten day staff training evaluation period where we make our final decisions based on onsite personal interaction. Each cabin consists of 3-4 college-aged cabin counselors and each activity has an Activity Team member overseeing it. Cabins remain consistent over the course of the summer with counselors staying together each week to help with continuity as well as learning how best to work with their age group.
