We are the intersection of a fallen world and the risen Christ. People come here to experience faith lived out in real time, not to hear more sermons. If the Gospel is the story of God’s promises to man, then the people of Sky Ranch are a display of those promises. Through recreation-based intentional learning environments and relationships with culturally relevant, committed believers, our guests "live the story" by experiencing the Truth of Scripture in creative, tangible ways.
We are to bind ourselves together with peace, for we are all one family with different gifts that, when used together, will help us all to spiritually mature. Then, when each member supplies his part, the whole team is built up and strengthened in love. All of this is to the end that we will not be led astray, but under His direction we can be healthy, growing and full of light.
Sky Ranch is called to provide a vision of Godly character, giving an individual hope, a Christ-centered self worth, and an experience that can provide clarity about what is true, who God is, and who they were created to become. God uses Sky Ranch as a vehicle to take a person from being a non-believer, to hungry seeker, to passionate follower, to ultimately a committed disciple. Sky Ranch is a beacon, a “city on a hill,” to gird up an individual’s faith when they are back home, living in a fallen world.
That the Godhead eternally exists in three persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit; and these are one in nature, attributes and perfection.
That man was originally created in the image of God; but that he fell from this sinless state through sin and therefore possesses a nature of sin.
That, as promised in the Old Testament, the eternal Son of God came into the world to show God to men and become the redeemer of a lost world. To this end He was born of a virgin and received a human body and a sinless nature.
We also believe that He was perfect, suffering life's temptations and trials yet He was sinless. He retained His absolute deity, while He was completely man.
We believe that He voluntarily became the sacrifice for the sin of the world by His death on the cross and that He arose the third day and reigns now in Heaven interceding for us.
We believe that, due to sin, no one can enter the Kingdom of God unless he has personally believed in and trusted himself to Jesus Christ as his Savior.
We believe that our redemption has been accomplished solely by the blood of Jesus Christ through our acceptance of His gift.
We believe that "all Scripture is given by inspiration of God", by which we understand that Holy Men of God were moved by the Holy Spirit to write the Holy Bible, which is without error in its original state.
We believe that as Christians, we are to walk not after the flesh but after the Spirit. We realize that we still possess an old sin nature, but, that in Christ, we also possess a divine new nature; and that a constant warfare exists within our lives. We know that as we supply the old nature with fleshly interests it grows and becomes dominant and, conversely, as we supply the new nature with spiritual interests it becomes dominant and also grows.
We will, to the best of our abilities and understanding, seek an honest involvement with Jesus Christ and with others.
We will strive for balance in our lives in order to enjoy fellowship with God and to promote sharing this experience with others.
We believe that Christ will return to receive to Himself all those who are His. We also believe that this is the blessed hope set forth in Scripture and that we are to be constantly looking for and desirous of this, the rapture.
In 1955 Sky Ranch opened its gates for the first time to let campers come and experience our signature program of fun, fellowship and discipleship. Starting with only 66 campers, Sky Ranch had already begun to fulfill the Brewers' dream of becoming a haven for kids to grow and learn separated from the worries of everyday life. As summers passed, the Sky Ranch program continued to influence the lives of children and soon became a tradition for families across Texas. In 1975, to better accommodate demand, Sky Ranch moved from its original location in Denton, TX, to its current location in Van, TX.
To this day, Sky Ranch continues the legacy of Mel and Winkie Brewer by providing programs that enrich lives and build solid Christian character. Now holding facilities in three states - Texas, Colorado and Oklahoma, Sky Ranch serves more than 50,000 individuals every year! In following our foundation of excellence, Sky Ranch strives to provide ministry opportunities for the whole family. From children's summer programs, SkyMoms ministry to mothers, family camps, school programs, retreat services, and more, Sky Ranch desires to be instrumental in the development of your family and the body of Christ as a whole.
It is a privilege and an honor to serve the ministry of Sky Ranch.
Can I share something with you? After serving in the corporate world for over 25 years, it was clear that God had prepared and equipped me to accept His call to Sky Ranch. Having been a camp mom myself, there is no greater environment for children to experience God than through his beautiful outdoor creation. In today's world when youth and families face so many pressures and such tumultuous times, the need to quip our children is more critical than ever before. It is our privilege to partner with families to help your children to be all that God created them to be.
Sky Ranch was built on a solid foundation over 55 years ago and it was birthed from a vision to impact youth for God's Kingdom by developing Godly leaders. Sky Ranch is passionate about providing Christ-centered encounters that enhance the moral fabrics of youth and families.
I am looking forward to seeing you at the Ranch, and if there is anything we can do for you or your family in the meantime, please don't hesitate to call on us. We are here to serve.
