The Director of Development supports the vision and ministries of Sky Ranch by cultivating and maintaining a strong, mutually-beneficial relationship with individuals who support our ministries.  This position is expected to minister to the needs of the donors and identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit, and steward these key partnerships for Sky Ranch.  The position will manage between 80 to 100 current donors, and will meet with and cultivate relationships with prospective donors.  It will be responsible for creating a comprehensive development strategy that will maintain and grow the Annual Giving and Scholarship program at Sky Ranch.  The Director must be well versed in the development database and help manage, maintain and create reports as well as make sure other employees use all the features needed to be successful.  The position will assist in putting together major gift and capital campaign strategies for the department.  This position is a key contributor to the development efforts for Sky Ranch.  This includes, but is not limited to:  1) Grow operation funding for Sky Ranch through charitable donations. 2)  Keep Sky Ranch alumni, camper families, and donors aware of the mission, accomplishments, and needs of Sky Ranch. 3) Work collaboratively with Sky Ranch Board and staff in identifying, cultivating, and ministering to existing and discovered relationships.  4) Develop and execute planned and measurable actions, steps and contacts designed to acknowledge the donors’ generosity; gather additional insight into donors’ motivations to give and their resource capacity; deepen relationships through strategic meetings and event involvement in order to renew and grow giving.  5)  participate in all aspects of the gift cycle.

The ability to plan, implement and help maintain systems for camp database software is a vital part of the position.  The current system is Circuitree.  The position will be responsible for programmed events set-up, which includes testing, verification and maintenance of the system.  The position is responsible for the set-up and development of other Sky Ranch ministry programs both now and in the future.  It will be responsible for the development of project plans based on organizational goals as well as beta testing, configuration and maintenance.  Excellent communication skills are required with Circuitree so both end user and accounting needs are met.  Serve as first level support for Circuitree system and coordinates/assists by leading team meetings.  Must be able to product reports/queries from Circuitree system as needed.

The Fellows at both locations will spend nine months with their respective camp as members of our Retreats and Activities departments as well as other site specific departments as needed.  Fellows will receiving high ropes and lifeguard certifications in order to run outdoor activities.  In the summer for three months, Fellows will transition to preassigned roles at any of our five locations located in Texas, Oklahoma or Colorado.  Assignments are based on need and skill sets to accomplish our mission of serving our summer campers, families or groups.  The Fellowship program also equips individuals to effectively apply Biblical leadership principles in significant ministry opportunities.  These principles are learned through regular community and family night functions, mentor relationships, and a focus on developing specific spiritual disciplines.  Participants in our Fellowship program will be given special consideration for entering into our Master’s Program which offers the opportunity to earn a Master’s degree through Dallas Baptist University at no cost to you will serving our School Programs department at our Van, TX camp location.

Qualified candidates should possess the following:  Be a committed believer in Jesus Christ and active membership in a local church.  Must have a heart for reaching children, youth and families and be willing to commit to learning the Sky Ranch model of purposeful play and becoming more effective at serving Christ through engaging ministry.  Have a four-year undergraduate degree.  The program is a one-year commitment and is delivered in a cohort model. Must be able to live on camp in shared housing during the program.  Excellent customer service skills.  Excellent verbal and written communication skills.  Able to effectively lead and work in a team environment   Highly organized with an ability to multi-task easily and give strong attention to details.  Must be able to work well under pressure and maintain confidentiality of highly sensitive personal information.  Ability to travel to various geographic locations, including travel by car, and some overnight stays.  Ability to work a varied schedule when needed, including some overtime, nights and weekends; Normal work days are Tuesday through Sunday, hours will vary.  Requires physical agility, common to setting up events, including but not limited to: bending for items below or reaching for items above the individual; carrying equipment; stooping, and climbing step stools or ladders.

Sky Ranch is currently seeking part-time servers and cooks to work with our Food Services team!   If you love having fun while serving others, then this is the job for you. This is a great opportunity for college students or retirees who can work mornings at least three days a week.

Qualified candidates should possess the following: Be a committed believer in Jesus Christ, active in a local church. Must be able to work flexible hours and work well in a team environment.  Previous food service experience preferred but not required. Punctual and timely attendance. Basic proficiency with the English language. Hours will vary and average less than 20 hours weekly. This position will work primarily 6:00 am to 3:00 pm for three to four days during the week; an occasional evening and weekend shift may be needed.
